Capital School District is committed to meeting the needs of our students and our community. Right now, this means directly addressing issues of racism, equity, and opportunity. Please read the letter from our Equity Committee outlining our ongoing work and asking for your support in this work.
Letter from Capital's Equity Committee
Capital School District embraces Racial Equity. The United Way
of Delaware (UWDE) and YWCA Delaware (YWCA) is offering The 21-Day Racial
Equity & Social Justice Challenge to build more effective social justice
habits, particularly those dealing with issues of race, power, privilege, and
leadership. Join thousands of other Delawareans in a 21-day journey of
self-discovery. From Monday, August 17 until Monday, September 14, participants
will receive a daily e-mail challenge to learn about the history and impact of
racism in Delaware, and the ways that bias, prejudice, privilege, and
oppression show up in our everyday lives. UWDE and YWCA will also be
facilitating conversation and promoting engagement with others in the 21 Day
Racial Equity Challenge Facebook group. For More Information or to Sign Up For
The Challenge, visit https://deracialequitychallenge.org/.
