Buildings and Grounds

The Capital School District’s Buildings & Grounds Department is committed to supporting our school community by providing safe, clean, and welcoming environments where students can learn, staff can work, and families can feel confident. Our team takes pride in maintaining facilities that reflect the District’s dedication to excellence and care for every student, every day.

In support of this mission, the Department cares for approximately 1.2 million square feet of instructional and support space across 15 buildings, along with more than 275 acres of District property. Each space is maintained with a focus on safety, functionality, and creating positive environments that support teaching and learning.

The Buildings & Grounds team delivers these services through several key areas, working together to meet the needs of our schools and community:

Maintenance – providing timely repairs and proactive preventive maintenance to keep facilities operating safely and efficiently

Operations – delivering high-quality custodial services and grounds care to ensure clean, healthy, and welcoming spaces

Capital Projects – planning and managing new construction and renovations to support the District’s growth and long-term facility needs
