Get to know the Office of Technology!

The Office of Technology is comprised of 4 pillars of service, each of which compliment and help the others achieve the overarching strategic objectives of the school district.  We are comprised of:

Operations - This team is comprised of the Field Technicians you see working in our schools and classrooms each and every day. These men and women are the backbone of our department and the first face you may see from our ranks. The more information you can provide them in your service request, the faster they can get you back up and running. 

Systems - Our Systems Team keeps our networks, servers, and other complex systems running smoothly and securely. While they don't get out of the office very often, they provide support across the entire district along with advanced troubleshooting in collaboration with our Field Operations Team. If you see us in your school, don't worry - we may just be there to say hello or ensure your services are running optimally. If you've ever wondered who in our office supports our District and School Websites, that is also a function of the Systems Team. 

Data - Members of the Data Systems Team support many diverse student information systems that you likely interact with each and every day.  These systems, such as eSchool, Home Access Center, and others, allow student schedules to be created; provide parents with the ability to see grades and attendance; track services provided to students; and countless other benefits.  Without our Data Systems Team, we wouldn't have access to the advanced data driven metrics we all rely on to make informed decisions to ensure the academic success of our students.

Instruction - While our Instructional Systems Team is one of the smallest of the department, our Instructional Technologist has an impressive impact on the instructional practices throughout the entire District.  She is here to help everyone learn the best instructional practices, including how to use technology efficiently and effectively in our classrooms. We would say this is pretty important. She even has her own section within our website, check it out here. She truly believes in engaging and exciting professional development opportunities for every teacher, student, and staff, and is involved in virtually all of the strategic, district wide professional learning opportunities.  The only thing that outshines her passion for teaching is her smile.

Public Relations - Public Relations leads the district Social Media and other public facing communication mediums. Integrating PR into the Office of Technology provides opportunities for enhanced communication not available to other school districts. We strive to lead the way in social media and public communication in the state!

Who leads this band of technical leaders? That would be our Supervisor of Technology! He oversees each team and meets constantly with each Team leader to ensure our department is meeting goals and providing the best quality service that we can to all Capital Staff and Students. Our supervisor is also no stranger to rolling up his sleeves and jumping into any situation to ensure we provide reliable equipment and services across the district. Not even a suit and tie will stop our Supervisor from crawling under your computer desk to get you back online.
